Winter Car Storage in Toronto’s East End: Your Options at Victoria Park and Danforth

Every fall, a lot of east end households ask the same question: where does the car go for the winter? Maybe you’re heading south until spring. Maybe the convertible is done for the season, or the second car doesn’t need to sit in the driveway through every snowfall. Either way, it’s easier to sort out before the first storm than during it.

At Vaultra Storage Victoria Park and Danforth, you’ve got two ways to do it.

Two ways to store your vehicle this winter

Our moving and storage bundle isn’t about connecting you with a third-party moving company. Vaultra’s own team handles your items from start to finish. We come to you, we store your belongings in our secure, climate-controlled facilities, and we return them when you’re ready.

You don’t need to coordinate between multiple companies, manage separate bookings, or hand your belongings off to strangers you’ve never met.

Here's how it works:

Gated parking spaces

These are outdoor, uncovered spaces on the gated property, with a 24/7 gate access code so you can get to your vehicle whenever you need it. They work for everyday parking or longer-term vehicle storage.

Gated drive-up units

These are enclosed units you can drive right up to, on the same gated property, so your vehicle stays out of the snow and out of sight. Our 10×30 drive-up units fit a car, and we have drive-up units in a range of other sizes for other belongings.

One honest note: drive-up units aren’t climate-controlled. They’re a great fit for the vehicle itself. Anything more sensitive, like keepsakes, electronics or wood furniture, belongs in one of our indoor climate-controlled units, which you can read about in our guide to how summer heat affects stored belongings.

Which one fits?

A few quick questions help:

  • Do you want your vehicle fully enclosed, or is a secure outdoor space enough?
  • Is it a vehicle you’d rather keep out of the snow altogether, like a convertible, a classic or the car you won’t be driving this winter
  • Will you want to pop in to start it or take it out mid-winter?

If you want it fully enclosed, go with a drive-up unit. If you want a straightforward, easy-access spot, the parking space does the job.

Grand opening offer

See the promotional terms for full details.

Getting your car ready for winter storage

A little prep means a car that starts easily in spring.

  • Wash and dry it well, inside and out, so nothing sits on the paint or in the carpets all winter.
  • Top up the fuel, and add a fuel stabilizer if it’ll sit for a long stretch.
  • Check your tire pressure, and think about whether the battery needs a maintainer or disconnecting.
  • Take out anything that attracts pests, like food wrappers and loose snacks.
  • If you use a car cover, make it a breathable one. Plastic traps moisture.
  • Let your auto provider know the vehicle will be stored, and ask about your coverage while it is.
